Get Candid with - "the superstar of "Indian arthouse cinema"

The man was at one time called "the superstar of "Indian arthouse cinema" by Time magazine.
Indiatimes Chat brings you the thinking woman's sex symbol, the actor Rahul Bose. The Indian indie film favourite will talk about his coming movies, his hot hit pairing with smokin' screen bomb Mallika Sherawat, his latest rugby moves and a whole lot more, here on Tuesday December 30th, at 12 Noon to 1 PM. Also the latest on 'Moth Smoke', the international bestseller Mohsin Hamid novel, whose adaptation he will start shooting late in 2009.
Bose, as many people know, started his acting career early, when as a boy of six he played the lead in his school play, 'Tom, the Piper's Son'. His beginnings lay in advertising but that took a back seat after his film career took off with the unprecedented success of first film, 'English, August'. Much acclaim followed for his work in movies like 'Split Wide Open' (Best Actor, Singapore Film Festival, 2000), Mr. And Mrs. Iyer, and 'Jhankaar Beats'. Later, 'Thakshak' and 'Chameli' followed, a more mainstream trend by his own standards.

The actor, who made his directorial debut with "Everybody Says I'm Fine', is also an active social activist. Besides being ambassador of the American India Foundation, a New York-based NGO committed to funding social projects in India, he also started his own foundation as part of the sustained relief work for
2004 tsunami-affected people of the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Find out what motivates him… Chat Live on Indiatimes Chat.
